How I Got Here

I am a local resident of the Berkshires; growing up in the Berkshires and attending Mt. Mountain Regional High School in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. My family were local, hardworking residents. They were teachers, nurses, small business owners and home builders.

My time as a young person, I was athletic, active and contributed to my community due to my family’s strong value of service. I volunteered as a candy striper, babysitter, ski instructor and swim instructor.

I attended university in Rhode Island, finishing my Public Health Education degree. I received a national award for my work in studying health insurance viability in collaboration with my graduate school mentor. I also completed an internship at the local health education department at the local Michigan hospital.

I returned home to care for my mother’s health needs, where I began raising my own family. I have the privilege of having three healthy and strong children. I believe we instilled the values of education, knowledge, hard work, compassion, and service in them. They are now grown, completed university and graduate school, and my son is currently working towards his officer training program in Georgia.

The more notable examples of my commitment to service and town governance include my involvement in committee volunteerism over the last ten years, my work as recording secretary for the town of Great Barrington, my 10-month training with a federal government AmeriCorps Vista program where I was placed at the local CDCSB to learn about Affordable Housing, my special education work in local Public Schools as a member of the advisory board of BRTA, and my work to secure a micro-transit program in our town of Stockbridge through my work with the RTAC committee. Additionally, I am chair of SBSC, a member of SBA, Conservation Commission, Stockbridge Land Trust, and a Stockbridge Selectman.

I believe in working hard, working together, and being able to meet whatever comes in front of you – these are some of my core values. I love my community, and I would love the opportunity to serve my community on a larger scale, to be the people’s constituent service. I would work to bring hope, prosperity, and a more equitable future to my community.
